Gabrielle Rothman

Gabrielle Rothman, M.A., CCC-SLP, received her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from American University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and a New York State license.

Gabrielle has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, outpatient clinical settings, schools, and home health. She is competent in Videostroboscopy, FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing), FEESST (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing with Sensory Testing), Nasometer, and CSL, and has also had experience in aphasia, dysphagia, stuttering, articulation disorders, resonance disorders (i.e., hypernasality, hyponasality, VPI), and laryngectomy patients. Gabrielle performs voice evaluations and voice therapy for both adults and children. Gabrielle's clinical interests lie in the area of voice disorders.

Gabrielle has been a guest lecturer at an outpatient Otolaryngology and Speech-language pathology clinic as well as at a large Pulmonology practice on the topic "Paradoxical Vocal Fold Movement", which she also specializes in. Gabrielle has provided practicum experiences for several undergraduate and master level speech pathology students in the area of voice, and has also trained Otolaryngology residents in Videostroboscopy. Gabrielle designs and implements individualized plans of care to enhance communication and voice, after evaluating the voice with perceptual and objective/acoustic measures, which she uses for both diagnostic and biofeedback purposes.
